RESUMO DO LIVRO
O livro aborda borboletas e contribuições da ciência cidadã para seu conhecimento, com enfoque em Curitiba e no Paraná. Inicialmente são discutidos conteúdos como a importância das borboletas, símbolos de quem as estuda, os princípios da ciência cidadã para o conhecimento científico dos lepidópteros, dicas para a prática da observação de borboletas e a questão da importância das Unidades de Conservação. Na sequência é apresentado o projeto de ciência cidadã que integra as atividades de curadoria da Coleção Ecológica de Entomologia (CEE/MAB/ICTBIO), intitulado Listas Ecológicas de Espécies de Borboletas (LEEB) Curitiba e Paraná. O projeto é resultado da realização, por cientistas cidadãos, de mais de 24.000 registros de máquina desta fauna na natureza desde 1981. Até o momento o projeto reuniu informações de 820 espécies de borboletas registradas no Paraná, sendo 660 delas em Curitiba, 185 espécies de plantas constatadas no papel de hospedeiras e informações para cada espécie de borboleta que incluem seu potencial polinizador, relações ecológicas, aspectos reprodutivos, status de conservação, raridade, ocorrências ao longo dos anos entre outras. Todos os registros dos quais partem os conteúdos das listas estão publicamente disponibilizados ao acesso aberto e participativo na plataforma de ciência cidadã e biodiversidade iNaturalist, mantida pela Academia de Ciências da Califórnia com apoio da National Geographic Society. O projeto está em constante atualização e se encontra registrado no Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações (MCTI) sendo ainda membro participante da Rede Brasileira de Ciência Cidadã (RBCC). Por fim são apresentados o Museu Aberto de Biodiversidade do Instituto de Ciência e Tecnologia em Biodiversidade (ICTBIO), fundado em 2020, e sua Coleção Ecológica de Entomologia, também registrada no MCTI. Esta é primeira coleção científica do Brasil que organiza registros de máquina da biodiversidade incluindo suas relações ecológicas e disponibilizando-os integralmente para consulta aberta, em favor da inclusão científica e fortalecimento da ciência cidadã. A coleção reúne em seu acervo, até o momento, registros que abrangem um total de mais de 1.000 espécies de insetos fotografados pela primeira curadora, dentre as quais 598 são de borboletas e delas 568 foram realizadas na Grande Curitiba, a partir de 2018. O encerramento do livro traz uma reflexão sobre a espécie de borboleta Arzecla straelena, partindo da análise de fotografias realizadas em Curitiba por cientistas cidadãos.

ABSTRACT
This book addresses butterflies and the contributions of citizen science to their understanding, focusing on Curitiba and Paraná. Initially, content is discussed related to the importance of butterflies, the symbols of those who study them, the principles of citizen science for the scientific understanding of Lepidoptera, tips for the practice of butterfly observation, and the importance of Conservation Units. Subsequently, the citizen science project is presented that is part of the curatorial activities of the Ecological Entomology Collection (Coleção Ecológica de Entomologia, CEE/MAB/ICTBIO), entitled Ecological Lists of Butterfly Species (ELBS) Curitiba and Paraná. The project is the result of the more than 24,000 camera record entries of this fauna made by citizen scientists in the wild since 1981. To date, the project has gathered information on 820 butterfly species registered in Paraná, 660 of them in Curitiba, 185 plant species found in the role of hosts, and information for each butterfly species including their pollinating potential, ecological relationships, reproductive aspects, conservation status, rarity, and occurrences over the years. All records on which the contents of the lists are based are publicly available for open and participatory access on the iNaturalist citizen science and biodiversity platform, maintained by the California Academy of Sciences with support from the National Geographic Society. The project is constantly being updated, is registered with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) and is also a part of the Brazilian Citizen Science Network (Rede Brasileira de Ciência Cidadã, RBCC). Finally, the Open Museum of Biodiversity of the Institute of Science and Technology in Biodiversity (Instituto de Ciência e Tecnologia em Biodiversidade, ICTBIO), founded in 2020, and its ecological Entomology Collection, also registered with the MCTI, are presented. This is the first scientific collection in Brazil that organizes camera records of biodiversity including their ecological relations, making them fully available for open consultation to promote scientific inclusion and strengthen citizen science. To date, the collection gathers records covering a total of more than 1,000 species of insects photographed by the first curator, including 598 butterflies, of which 568 were taken in greater Curitiba after 2018. The book's conclusion brings a reflection on the butterfly species Arzecla straelena, based on the analysis of photographs taken in Curitiba by citizen scientists.

RESUMO
Este capítulo apresenta o projeto de ciência cidadã Listas Ecológicas de Espécies de Borboletas (LEEB) - Curitiba e Paraná (CEE/MAB/ICTBIO). O projeto reúne e organiza informações de registros fotográficos de borboletas realizados em Curitiba e no Paraná por centenas de cientistas cidadãos que os disponibilizam em acesso aberto na plataforma de ciência cidadã e biodiversidade iNaturalist, mantida pela Academia de Ciências da Califórnia com apoio da National Geographic Society. São apresentados os resultados obtidos no ano de início das atividades da curadoria realizada por nove pesquisadores que são os autores deste capítulo. Até o momento foram organizadas informações com base em mais de 24.000 registros fotográficos de borboletas realizados na Grande Curitiba e no Paraná entre os anos de 1981 e 2021. Os resultados abrangem 820 espécies de borboletas no Paraná, 660 delas com ocorrência na Grande Curitiba e 186 espécies de plantas hospedeiras. Entre as espécies de borboletas integram o projeto 2 não descritas, 3 ameaçadas e 208 raras (registro único). Os conteúdos ecológicos relacionados a cada espécie de borboleta incluem: potencial polinizador, dados reprodutivos, ocorrências ao longo dos anos, raridade, status de conservação entre outros. O projeto está registrado no Sistema de Informação sobre a Biodiversidade Brasileira (SiBBr), desenvolvido sob a coordenação do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações (MCTI), com suporte técnico da ONU Meio Ambiente (UNEP) e apoio financeiro do Fundo Global para o Meio Ambiente (GEF). O SiBBr é nodo nacional do Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). O projeto também é membro participante da Rede Brasileira de Ciência Cidadã.

ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the citizen science project Ecological Lists of Butterfly Species (ELBS) - Curitiba and Paraná (CEE/MAB/ICTBIO). The project gathers and organizes information from photographic records of butterflies made in Curitiba and Paraná by hundreds of citizen scientists who made them available for open access on the iNaturalist citizen science and biodiversity platform maintained by the California Academy of Sciences with support from the National Geographic Society. The results are presented that were obtained in the year when the curatorial activities started of the nine researchers who are the authors of this chapter. To date, information has been organized based on more than 24,000 photographic records of butterflies made in Greater Curitiba and Paraná between the years 1981 and 2021. The results cover 820 butterfly species in Paraná, 660 of them occurring in Greater Curitiba, and 186 species of host plants. Among the butterfly species included in the project, two are not described, three are endangered and 208 are rare (single record). The ecological contents related to each butterfly species include: pollinating potential, reproductive data, occurrences over the years, rarity, and conservation status, among others. The project is registered in the Brazilian Biodiversity Information System (Sistema de Informação sobre a Biodiversidade Brasileira, SibBr), developed under the Coordination of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) with technical support from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and financial support from the Global Environment Fund (GEF). SibBr is the national node of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). The project is also part of the Brazilian Citizen Science Network.

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG
In diesem Kapitel wird das ökologische Citizen Science Project “Auflistung von Schmetterlingsarten (LEEB) aus Curitiba und Paraná" vorgestellt. Das Projekt sammelt und organisiert Informationen aus fotografischen Aufzeichnungen von Schmetterlingen, die in Curitiba und Paraná von Hunderten von Bürger-Forschern gemacht wurden, die sie auf der iNaturalist-Plattform für Biodiversität frei zugänglich machen, getragen von der California Academy of Sciences mit Unterstützung der National Geographic Society. Es werden die Ergebnisse vorgestellt, die im Jahr zu Beginn der Aufzeichnungen unter der Leitung von neun Forschern erzielt wurden, die die Autoren dieses Kapitels sind. Bisher wurden aus über 24.000 ökologische Inhalte, wie Bestäuberpotential, Reproduktionsdaten, Vorkommen im Laufe der Jahre, Seltenheit, Erhaltungszustand, unter anderen, aufgezeichnet. Es wurden 820 Vorkommnisse von Schmetterlingsarten in Paraná registriert, davon 660 im Großraum Curitiba und 186 Wirtspflanzenarten, die den Schmetterlingen dienen. Unter den Schmetterlingsarten sind 2 unbeschriebene, 3 bedrohte und viele sehr seltene, die im Laufe der Jahre seit dem ältesten verfügbaren Schmetterlingsnachweis auf iNaturalist und bis heute (1981-2021) nur einmal aufgezeichnet wurden. Das Projekt ist im brasilianischen Biodiversitäts-Informationssystem (SiBBr) registriert, das unter der Koordination des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Technologie und Innovation (MCTI) mit technischer Unterstützung der UN-Umwelt (UNEP) und finanzieller Unterstützung des Globalen Fonds für die Umgebung (GEF) zählt. SiBBr ist der nationale Verbindungspunkt der Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Das Projekt ist auch ein teilnehmendes Mitglied des brasilianischen Citizen Science Network.
